This policy explains what information Joslen Commercial Funding, LLC (JCF) collects through this website and while arranging financing, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We're a commercial equipment financing and working capital broker. We don't lend money ourselves: we place applications with lenders and funding sources in our network.
The short version
- What we collect: what you put in our credit application, credit authorization or contact form, what you send us by text, phone or email, and basic technical information about your visit.
- Why: to review your application, find a lender that fits, let lenders check credit and verify details, stay in touch about your financing, and run and protect this website.
- Who sees it: our team, the lenders we place your application with, and the service providers that help us run this website. We don't sell your information.
- How we protect it: your credit application is encrypted before it's saved, only people we authorize can open it on this site, and the site deletes it automatically 90 days after you submit. Copies we share with lenders, and our own deal records, are kept longer (see How long we keep it).
- Your choices: you can ask us what we have, ask us to correct or delete it (some records we have to keep), or ask us to stop texting or emailing you.
What we collect
When you fill out our credit application
Our credit application asks for:
- Business details: company name, phone and fax, address, nature of business, a description of your business, contact name and email, form of business, date formed, annual revenue, number of employees, federal Tax ID (EIN), whether you own your home, and state of incorporation.
- Owner details (for you and any co-applicant): full name, title, ownership percentage, Social Security number and home address.
- The equipment: what it is, where it's located, the price and any down payment.
- Bank references: bank name, years with the bank, and a contact name and phone number. We don't ask for account numbers.
- Other details you choose to share: collateral you'd be willing to pledge, how you heard about us, and any notes.
- Your electronic signature: the name and title each signer types, plus the date and time, IP address and browser information, which we record when you submit.
When you sign our credit authorization
Our credit authorization asks for the company name and the full name each signer types as their electronic signature. As with the credit application, we record the date and time, IP address and browser information when you sign, and the website stores it the same way: encrypted, and deleted automatically 90 days after you submit.
When you use our contact form
Our contact form collects your name, email, phone number if you give one, and your message. It's delivered to our team by email. It isn't saved in our website's database.
When you text, call or email us
We keep the texts, calls and emails you send us, and the details you share in them, as part of our business communications.
From other sources
With your authorization, the lenders we work with obtain consumer and business credit reports, and we or they verify the information in your application.
Automatically, when you visit
- Google Analytics uses cookies to tell us which pages are viewed, how visitors found the site, their approximate location, and what kind of device and browser they use. It also records when someone submits a form or taps one of our text, phone or email links. It never receives what you type into our forms.
- Our hosting provider's analytics records the pages viewed, the referring site, approximate country, and device and browser type, without cookies, and shows them to us as totals.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time.
- Spam and abuse protection. We briefly use your IP address to limit how often our forms can be submitted. For the credit application and credit authorization, we store a code made from your IP address rather than the address itself, and that record expires within a few hours.
None of these analytics tools run on the private pages our team uses to view applications.
How we use it
- To review your application and work out which lenders fit your situation.
- To send your application to lenders and funding sources so they can check credit and verify your information, as you authorize when you sign the application.
- To talk with you about your financing: answering questions, following up and asking for anything else a lender needs.
- To run, secure and improve this website, including stopping spam and fraud and understanding which pages are useful.
- To keep business records and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Lenders and funding sources we place your application with, so they can evaluate and fund it. That includes checking credit with credit reporting agencies. Once they have it, they handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers that help us run this website: website hosting and analytics, our database, email delivery, Google Analytics, and the web developer who builds and maintains the site. They handle information only to provide those services to us.
- When the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or when we need to protect our rights, our customers or the public, including preventing fraud.
- If our business changes hands, such as in a merger or sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't pass it to lead-aggregator networks.
How we protect it
Your credit application holds some of the most sensitive information you have, so we've built the site around protecting it:
- Everything you send travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- This site doesn't save your answers in your browser's storage while you fill out the form, and they're never sent to our analytics tools.
- The whole application is encrypted (AES-256) before it's saved in our website's database.
- The email that tells our team a new application has arrived includes only the applicant's name, the company name, the equipment price and the time it arrived, plus a link. It never includes Social Security numbers, Tax IDs, addresses or bank details.
- On our website, only people we authorize can open an application, by signing in with a passkey: a sign-in tied to their own devices, with no password to steal. The sign-in times out after a period of inactivity.
- In our online viewer, Social Security numbers and Tax IDs stay hidden until a team member chooses to show them, and we keep a log each time our team opens, reveals or downloads an application.
- The pages where our team views applications aren't indexed by search engines and don't run analytics.
No website or method of storage is 100% secure, but we take these steps to keep your information safe. If you think something isn't right, contact us right away using the details below.
How long we keep it
- Your credit application or credit authorization in our website's database is deleted automatically 90 days after you submit it, along with its access log.
- The email that tells us about a new application (name, company, equipment price and time) is kept with our business email.
- Copies we've shared with lenders, and our deal records, are kept as long as we need them to arrange your financing and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. Lenders keep their copies under their own policies.
- Contact form messages, texts, calls and emails are kept with our business communications.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser.
- Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. You can opt out with Google's opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab), or block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. The site works the same either way.
- Our hosting provider's analytics doesn't use cookies.
- A sign-in cookie is set only when a team member signs in to the private pages where we view applications. Visitors to the rest of the site never get it.
We don't use advertising cookies or social media tracking, and we don't embed maps, videos or social media widgets. Our fonts are served from our own site.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for how websites should respond to it, and our site doesn't currently respond to it.
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information. Ask us what information we have about you, ask us to fix anything that's wrong, or ask us to delete it. Some records we have to keep for legal and business reasons, and we can't pull back information a lender already has.
- Stop hearing from us. Ask us to stop texting or emailing you at any time.
- Analytics. Use the Google Analytics opt-out or your browser's cookie settings described above.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, for example by checking details from your application. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
This site is for businesses and the people who run them. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other websites, such as industry associations and partners. Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
