What we finance

Why JCF for trucking
Trucking revenue swings month to month, especially for newer operators. JCF works with lenders that look at the trend instead of the most recent 90 days.
Delayed first payments, seasonal adjustments, balloon options — when a deal needs flexibility to close, we shop for lenders that can flex.
Collateral in place of cash down, lower down payments for stronger credit, larger down payments for thinner profiles. We tailor it to your situation.
How financing works
Newer equipment unlocks longer terms and lower rates; older equipment gets shorter terms with a stronger down payment to compensate. Mileage and condition factor in heavily. We'll walk you through what a specific truck unlocks before you put a deposit down.
Quick primer
An Equipment Finance Agreement (EFA) is one of the most common ways small businesses fund equipment purchases. It looks and feels like a lease, but it's technically not one. With an EFA, you own the equipment from day one, and the lender secures their position with a UCC filing or a title lien.
Because you own it, the equipment shows up on your balance sheet, and you handle depreciation on your end. For most operators, an EFA is a cleaner fit than a lease.
Trucking customers
Tim worked with the lender to delay my first payment for 90 days. I will definitely be using Joslen Commercial Funding for my next purchase.
Tim kept in contact for many months before I was finally ready to purchase a reefer trailer. The process was quick and done with professionalism. I'm working with JCF again on the next trailer.
An out-of-state dealer in Oregon referred us. They deal exclusively with Tim, and now I know why. Professionalism, knowledge of the lender market, and seven-day-a-week communication. Highly recommended.
Common questions
Credit matters, but it's one factor among many. Lenders also look at time in business, homeownership, the type of business you run, how many guarantors are on the loan, and your history with similar-sized loans.
Strong credit gets you the best rates. Weaker credit doesn't automatically disqualify you. There are lenders that specialize in B, C, and D credit tiers, and we work with them when it makes sense for your situation.
If a bankruptcy hasn't been discharged, no lender will fund a new loan. That part is universal.
Once it's discharged, the picture changes. Different lenders set different waiting periods, usually two to five years after discharge. The right lender depends on the type of bankruptcy, what's happened with your business since, and the size of the deal. Worth a phone call to walk through.
A collateral loan uses other lien-free equipment you already own as security for new financing. It's a common tool when your credit profile or time in business makes a lender hesitant on the deal alone.
Lenders typically want a two-to-one ratio. To borrow $30,000 against collateral, you'd put up roughly $60,000 in lien-free equipment. The exact ratio depends on the lender and the equipment, but two-to-one is a reasonable starting expectation.
